Get to Know Baby Rubber Plant!

Highlights

Mostly all of the peperomias are considered easy care indoor plants because they do not require a lot of water. They thirst, instead, for brightly lit rooms where they can grab all of the indirect sunlight they need to grow. Most of the thicker-leaved varieties can be treated like succulents as they retain water in their waxy leaves. A baby rubber plant is great for any type of plant owner from beginner to expert.

Watering

Baby rubber plants with waxy leaves like to have the soil dry out between watering; ones with softer thinner leaves need to be watered more often. Your finger is a great gauge for knowing when the soil is dry and your plant needs watered.

Sunlight

Prefers medium to bright indirect light. Be sure the foliage is protected from the harsh afternoon direct rays of the sun, as direct sunlight will cause leaf scorch or discolor the leaves.

Pet-Friendly?

Yes! This plant is non-toxic to pets if ingested.

Sad Plant (is your plant dying?)

Here are the steps to save a dying rubber plant:

1.Move the plant to a bright spot where it gets bright indirect light.
2. Check the soil, and make sure the soil is moist but not soggy.
3. Water the plant if the top layer of soil feels dry.
4. Prune any damaged leaves and use a damp cloth to clean the remaining leaves.
5. Provide adequate moisture to the plant.
6. Mist the plant with neem oil solution to eliminate any possible pests.
7. Fertilize the plant in spring and summer to encourage new growth.
