Calandiva

Calandivas are part of the Kalanchoe succulent family, with clusters of beautiful rose-like flowers that come in a variety of colors. Known colloquially as "widow's-thrill", these tropical plants are native to Madagascar and Africa.

They will be happiest when you allow the soil to dry out completely between watering. We recommend watering an average of once every two weeks.

The calandiva is a succulent, so it prefers bright, indirect sunlight. Too much direct sun can cause sunburn, but the right lighting conditions can help it bloom faster!

Overwatering is the biggest danger to these plants, which may look like wilted leaves or a powdery mildew on the stem. This may mean root rot! Allow your plant to dry out completely and repot if needed.
