Get to Know Limelight Dracaena!

Highlights

Sword-shaped leaves come to a point and feature a very subtle texture. The namesake trait is the bright chartreuse foliage that stands out and adds intensely saturated color to a space. Dracaena are semi-drought-tolerant houseplants that need their soil to dry almost between watering. This is essentially what makes them so easy to maintain. Find a brightly lit spot, and the Dracaena Limelight will be wholly content and look fantastic.

Watering

Water your Dracaena when 75% of the soil volume is dry. Always water thoroughly and discard excess water in the saucer to avoid root rot. Overwatering causes root rot and is the most common reason a Dracaena plant dies.

Sunlight

Your Limelight Dracaena does best in low to indirect bright light. Direct sunlight can cause the lime color to fade and can even scorch the leaves.

Pet-Friendly?

Limelight Dracaena leaves are toxic to pets and humans if ingested.

Sad Plant (is your plant dying?)

Look out for a common problem called ‘tipping’ when the tips of the leaves dry out and turn brown. The most common cause is tap water, which contains salts, chlorine, fluoride, and other elements that may be harmful in excess. To prevent this, you can use distilled water or rainwater.
