Get to Know Cinnamon Hoya

Highlights

The Cinnamon Hoya is one of the smaller Hoya varieties, with dark green leaves that cascade down the plant's vines. When properly cared for, this Hoya produces small blooms of flowers that smell like cinnamon (hence the name)! Your Hoya is more likely to bloom in warmer months.

Watering

Allow your Hoya's soil to dry out most of the way between waterings. Hoya plants can tolerate some dryer conditions but may be prone to root rot. Water the plant thoroughly around once per week, and allow all excess water to drain away. Always test the soil's moisture before watering.

Sunlight

Your Hoya prefers bright indirect light, as direct sunlight may scorch its leaves. We recommend placing or hanging this plant near a window!

Pet-Friendly?

Yes, Hoya plants are non-toxic to pets and people.

Sad Plant (is your plant dying?)

NOT BLOOMING: Some Hoyas take a couple years to start blooming, so be patient with your plant! You can increase the chances of a bloom by ensuring your plant has bright indirect light, and avoiding over-watering.

DROPPING LEAVES: If your Hoya is dropping squishy or yellow leaves you may be over-watering. Allow the soil to dry out almost completely between waterings, and test the soil moisture before watering again. If your Hoya is dropping crispy leaves you're likely under-watering. Give your Hoya a drink and test the soil moisture before watering again.
